Family Dinner Plan Under $60 (Week #97)
Some weeks it’s a real struggle just to get dinner on the table. You want something that tastes good, but also doesn’t take a ton of time or effort to pull together. That’s exactly what this week’s plan is all about, meals that are quick and easy to make, but still feel like real, satisfying dinners.
We kept things simple with a lot of basic ingredients, which helped bring the total way down. This week’s menu came out to just $54.44 for 28 items at Walmart, using prices from the Thomaston, GA location. If you already have a few pantry staples on hand, you can easily get your total even lower.

Shopping List

If you want to see the full shopping list on Walmart in your area, all you have to do is click my Walmart Grocery list and change the zip code to your area. *This is an affiliate link, and I do make a small commission on any purchases, but at no additional cost to you!*
**** Please note, that every once in a while, an item that I pick turns out to be regional. This means that it may be a much higher price in some areas. Always double check the list and if you see an item that is much higher than normal, just adjust as needed.
Quick & Easy Meals for the Week
Sticky Apricot Chicken with Rice & Broccoli
This one brings that perfect sweet-savory balance with minimal ingredients, and it comes together fast for a busy night. You can swap the broccoli for any frozen veggie or even stir it right into the rice to save a step.

Turkey Taco Mac & Cheese with Corn
A fun, family-friendly mashup that feels like comfort food with a little taco twist. If it starts to get too thick, just add a splash of milk to loosen it back up. This one reheats really well too.

Chicken & Spinach Orzo Skillet
A simple one-pan meal that feels a little more elevated but still uses basic ingredients. If you don’t have spinach, frozen works just fine, or you can skip it and serve with a quick side salad instead.

Garlic Herb Sausage, Potatoes, & Carrots (Sheet Pan Meal)
This is your low-effort, toss-it-and-go dinner that’s perfect for busy nights. You can swap in cabbage or peppers depending on what’s cheap, and lining the pan makes cleanup even easier.

Crispy Ranch Chicken Cutlets with Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans
A classic comfort meal with crispy chicken and simple sides that always works. If you want to save time, you can skip slicing and just cook whole chicken breasts or even bake them instead of pan-frying.

Turkey & Mushroom Rice Bowls
This is a great budget stretcher with lots of flavor from simple ingredients. If mushrooms aren’t your thing, you can sub in zucchini or extra onions and still keep that hearty, savory feel.
