Meet Jen – The Mind Behind Low Dough Family

Hey there! I’m Jen, a dedicated stay-at-home mom to two energetic toddlers. My husband and I have navigated the ups and downs of life together for 15 years, making a conscious decision to live frugally while cherishing every moment with our family.

Our financial journey began in 2008 when the “Great Recession” hit us hard. Determined to learn from this experience, we committed to living off a single income, even as a two-income household. This decision not only helped us weather tough times but also allowed us to save during the good years, ultimately granting me the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom.

When our second child faced a challenging start in the NICU, I was able to be by her side every day without worrying about bills. Having our finances under control gave us the freedom to focus on what truly matters: family.

The Gap We Aim to Fill

As I embarked on my journey to financial freedom, I scoured countless blogs and articles for money-saving tips, only to find that many didn’t address the unique challenges faced by families making under 50k a year. Most advice centered around curbing daily expenses like coffee runs or cutting back on vacations – recommendations that didn’t apply to us, as we rarely indulged in such luxuries.

Frustrated by the lack of practical advice for low-income families, my husband encouraged me to create our own solutions and share the valuable lessons we’d learned.

What Sets Low Dough Family Apart

At Low Dough Family, we understand that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to financial success. We’re not offering a quick fix; we’re here to support and inspire you on your financial journey.

Our focus is on three key areas: Budgeting (making a plan), Saving Money (how, when, and where), and Do It Yourself Solutions. We concentrate on these areas because we believe this is where valuable information was lacking in the resources we encountered.

We won’t tell you what to give up or dictate what you should save for. Instead, we ask questions and provide information to help you uncover the root of your financial challenges. Whether you’re an overspender, facing a significant life event, or simply looking to break free from years of financial stagnation, we’re here to offer food for thought and actionable ways to improve.

So, grab a cup of coffee (or your preferred beverage), explore our website, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need more information. At Low Dough Family, we’re here to empower you to spend less, reduce food waste, live more abundantly, and save money for the things that truly matter in your life.
