Easter “Nest” Egg- Savings Challenge for April 2023- Free Printable
While Easter Egg hunts may be more of a kid activity around Easter, this April we are going to save up some money. We are going to work on our Nest Egg!
What should I Save for this Month?
I always like to look ahead and see if there are any possible money spending opportunities ahead. In the next few months, it will be summer and both of my kids will be home all day instead of school.
Summer means that I get to spend a ton of time with my kids all day, but I start to run out of cheap and easy ideas for fun. So, I like to splurge a little and save up some money for treats.
This summer my youngest daughter is now going to be able to enjoy some fun activities like going to the trampoline park, the water park, and bowling.
I am estimating that these fun splurges and a few tasty treats will probably cost $300.
How does the Savings Challenge work?
This savings challenge has 30 eggs since the month of April has 30 days. First I will put my total on the goal line on top of the Chick.
Then, I will take my goal of $300 and divide it by 30, and that equals $10. I will put the $10 on the line that says “Each Egg Equals”.
So, now I know that in order to hit my goal, I need to find a way to save $10 or make $10 every day for the month of April.
Every time I put $10 away, I will color in a festive Easter Egg.
Some days I may make or save more than $10, and that is awesome, but I still like the challenge of $10 a day. It may take me all 30 days to hit my goal, or I might just finish it early. Only time will tell.
Either way, this $300 will help me be able to do the fun things with my kids this summer without having to put it on a credit card.
How to Save or Make $10 a day?
Both of my kids are currently going through some wonderful growth spurts, so I am going to clean out closets and sell some gently used clothing and shoes on Facebook.
I also have picked up a few sewing projects for friends, so that will earn some extra money too!
My favorite way to save money throughout the month, is to try to not spend my whole grocery budget. So, I will look for some new meals using super cheap pantry staples.
Now that I have my plan in place, it is time to print out the tracker. I like to hang mine on the fridge, since I easily go to the fridge 50 times a day.
It’s easy to keep my motivation high when I see the progress on my tracker!
