Low Budget Slow Cooker Sides (Free PDF)
Whether you are going to a potluck or a cookout, you may be asked to bring a side dish. The easiest side dishes can usually be made in a crockpot for super cheap!
So today, we are going over my favorite side dishes that use a slow cooker and won’t break the bank.
Maybe you have a bigger family, and these could just be the answer to easy side dishes for dinner as well.
1. Fried Apples
This is one of my favorite side dishes and it is always a hit at any gathering!
2. Creamy Jalapeno Corn
You can easily make this dish as hot or mild as you like. For mild, switch out the jalapenos for green bell pepper!
3. Creamed Spinach
I absolutely adore creamed spinach, and this is such a great base to work with! You can easily add canned artichoke to make this into a hot spinach dip too.
4. Slow Cooker Green Beans
Green beans with bacon are always a great side dish. This can be seasoned any way you like to up the flavor too!
5. Baked Beans
A cookout is never complete without baked beans right? These will have you kissing canned baked beans good bye!
6. Ranch Potatoes
Oh, my goodness! I love anything ranch and these do not disappoint. You can easily switch out red potatoes for russet potatoes if you like.
7. Buffalo Bacon Cauliflower
A friend once told me that she will never look at cauliflower the same after having this!
8. Mac & Cheese
Who isn’t a fan of mac and cheese? This side dish is always a hit!

Variations & Substitutes
Every family has different tastes, so you can easily switch out ingredients to suit your family. Also don’t feel locked into the ingredients, it really doesn’t matter if you use different seasonings, right? Just substitute with what you already have if possible!
