Grocery Price Showdown: Rockaway, New Jersey
This week we are doing price comparisons at local grocery store options in Rockaway, New Jersey. These are all stores that offer online shopping options.
We are taking this week’s $100 Meal Plan for a Family of Four and using the grocery list at each of the following stores:
- Walmart
- Wegman’s
- ShopRite
- ACME
- Target
- Aldi
We will be able to see who has the cheapest grocery options as well as which store is most likely to be the most expensive!

Grocery Price Totals
Here is the list of Rockaway, New Jersey grocery stores in order from cheapest to most expensive.
It is also worth noting that these were all shopping directly on their websites. There were some other local stores, but they used Instacart for online shopping, so some of their prices may be listed higher than if we had gone inside the store to shop!

Would shopping multiple stores save money?
We always like to see if going to multiple stores will beat the Walmart’s total. This week the two cheapest stores were Aldi and ShopRite.
By only shopping the cheapest priced items at these two stores, our total would have been $101.55.
That was a significant savings compared to their regular totals ($110.79 & $118.78) but unfortunately still came out $10.11 more expensive than Walmart’s total of $91.44.
