3 Budget Foil Pack Dinners You Can Make at Home or on the Fire (MM#9)

Foil pack dinners aren’t just for camping trips anymore! They’re a delicious (and budget-friendly) way to get dinner on the table with minimal mess and maximum flavor.

Whether you’re cooking over a campfire, firing up the grill, or making dinner in your own kitchen, these easy foil pack meals bring all the cozy campfire vibes without needing an oven.

Each recipe is family-friendly, affordable, and designed to work no matter where you’re cooking! (Even if your idea of “roughing it” is running out of foil.)

Grocery Items Needed for the Mini Menu

If you want to see the full shopping list on Walmart in your area, all you have to do is click my Walmart Grocery list and change the zip code to your area. *This is an affiliate link, and I do make a small commission on any purchases, but at no additional cost to you!*

**** Please note, that every once in a while, an item that I pick turns out to be regional. This means that it may be a much higher price in some areas. Always double check the list and if you see an item that is much higher than normal, just adjust as needed.

Sausage & Potato Foil Packs

I feel like this one is such a classic! My brother calls this the “Ultimate Hobo Meal” and he’s not wrong. It’s easy to make, super filling, and you can easily switch up the ingredients too! *Keep in mind the size of the potatoes will make your cooking time vary*

BBQ Drumsticks & Veggie Foil Packs

This is another classic foil pack, but what I love about it is that everyone can make it their way. So, if you have picky eaters, you can easily set up a little buffet where everyone “builds” their foil pack themselves and controls the amount of BBQ sauce and veggies!

Nacho Foil Packs with Chips

Think walking tacos or nachos on the campground! That was the inspiration here and it totally worked out when our frozen hamburger patties fell apart! So instead of crying over broken burgers, we turned it into the best nachos ever.

Possible Variations

Whether you are camping or staying home, you can easily adjust these meals to work for you. Like I mentioned above, you can swap out ground meat for frozen burger patties. You can swap out the drumsticks for chicken breasts or chicken tenders!

You are only limited by your imagination when it comes to food. I always suggest looking around your pantry/fridge/freezer first then using those items as much as you can!
