9 Easy Low-Cost Dips to Make Homemade!
Summertime is always a great time to get together with friends and family. You don’t technically need a reason to celebrate, but you do need snacks!
Whether it is a barbeque, cookout, or potluck it is always a good idea to bring finger foods. My favorite one is always something that involves a dip!
So here is our best list of easy and low-cost dips that you can bring to any function.
1. Cucumber Salsa
This is a nice twist on salsa! As a bonus cucumbers and melons typically are lower in cost during the summer time. If honeydew is still too pricey you can easily switch it out to pineapple, cantaloupe, or even watermelon!
*If you like a little more heat, throw in some chopped jalapenos for some kick!*
2. Spicy Peanut Dip
I love this dip because you can easily use any variety of white beans (even garbanzo beans) plus you could even us chunky peanut butter too.
3. Pickle Ham Dip
I love this twist on the wrapped ham pickle appetizer! You can easily add some of your favorite seasonings to this as well.
4. Spinach Feta Dip
I love a good spinach dip and this is a newer twist! This is really amazing on a lunchmeat sandwich too because it adds a ton of flavor.
5. Deviled Egg Dip
Let’s be honest, making deviled eggs can be some work! This fun dip is all the same taste with a tiny bit of effort.
6. Charleston Cheese Dip
This fun cheese dip is so yummy and works so well with so many different dippers! My kids actually like dipping pretzels in it but it gets a little messy.
7. Cheddar Ranch Dip
All my favorite flavors in one dip! This is such a crowd pleaser, and it is super easy to whip up with no notice.
8. Maple Bacon Dip
This one is kind of unexpected but it’s actually really good. If you go with apple slices make sure to soak them in lemon water so they don’t turn brown. You can skip that part and use apple chips too!
9. Hot or Cold Crab Dip
I love this one too! So yummy and light that it makes for a great easy dinner too. We put it on top of a green salad!

Is it worth making your own Dips?
I think whether you’re trying to save money or if you need to make something really quick, it is always good to know how to make your own dips!
If you happen to not care for the store made kind, you can totally make your own and adjust the flavors to what you do like.
As an added bonus, making them yourself also helps you control ingredients that you may not like. For instance, if you don’t like onions, you can easily remove that from any recipe!
