Week 55: 6 Dinners for $60 at Walmart!

This week we are doing 6 Dinners for $60 at Walmart. This meal plan is all about quick and easy….but it’s also about yummy foods that my kids actually want to eat! If you have young kids, you will understand that struggle well.

Our total this week was $59.70 at the Super Walmart in Helena, Montana. We used a lot of basic ingredients, and I’m pretty sure you already have some at home, so you can get your total lower than that easily!

Just remember to check your pantry, fridge, and freezer first before you go grocery shopping. Also, don’t forget to switch up the ingredients based on what you already have at home! We used chicken breasts and ground pork this week, but if you already have chicken thighs and ground beef, you can totally use those.

Grocery List

If you want to see the full shopping list on Walmart in your area, all you have to do is click my Walmart Grocery list and change the zip code to your area. *This is an affiliate link, and I do make a small commission on any purchases, but at no additional cost to you!*

**** Please note, that every once in a while, an item that I pick turns out to be regional. This means that it may be a much higher price in some areas. Always double check the list and if you see an item that is much higher than it should be adjust accordingly.

Yummy Dinners this Week

1. Cheeseburger Stuffed Shells with Side Salad

If you normally like pickles, tomato, and onions on your burger, you can easily dice those up and top your pasta with them. It will give you the full burger experience but with pasta!

2.Rosemary Butter Chicken with Roasted Carrots and Potatoes

This is a classic easy meal that you can switch up as needed. Don’t like rosemary? That is totally fine! Use whatever fresh herb or seasoning from your spice cabinet!

3. One Pot Taco Pasta

This is another fun recipe that you can switch up. Try a different meat or even try a different bean!

4. Italian Meatball Soup

I love this one for cold days. This is so hearty and full of veggies that it just screams comfort food!

5. Sour Cream Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Peas

This paprika sauce makes the most wonderful gravy over your potatoes! I eat this like a KFC bowl where everything is all topped together. Oh my goodness, yummy!

6. Sausage Pierogies Skillet

I always had to use 2 pans to make pierogies (1 to boil water and 1 to saute), but now I have figured out how to just use one pot!

Low-Cost Fruit Options to Add:

I am a huge fan of adding fruit to dinners. This small, yummy part helps kids know they will love at least something on their plate.

So, whenever I have a little wiggle room in my budget, I try to pick up 2-3 fruits to add to meals. Here are some good options that you can grab this week! (Try mixing fresh fruit and canned fruit together for some added variety)

It’s also been shown that most Americans don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables, so add some to your dinner! (Remember you don’t need a ton of fruit either, just a 1/4 to 1/2 a cup can help fill you up at mealtime.)
