Grocery Price Showdown: Joplin, Missouri

This week we are doing our price comparisons in Joplin, Missouri. We will take our 6-dinner meal plan for $60 and place online grocery orders at all the local stores that offer this.

We will use the same list at each store and end up with prices from the local Super Walmart, Harp’s, Target, Aldi, Natural Grocers, and King Cash Saver.

Then we will see how the stores compare as far as who is the cheapest grocery store in Joplin to who is the most expensive grocery store!

It is worth noting that Harp’s, King Cash Saver, and Natural Grocers only offer online ordering with Instacart, so their prices may be slightly lower in store.

Would shopping two stores save money?

We compared prices of Aldi and Target to see if shopping both places could potentially save us some more money. By only shopping what was cheapest at each store, our total would have been $65.04.

Yes, that was cheaper than either store’s total by itself, but it was still not cheaper than Walmart’s total of $58.04.
