Grocery Price Showdown: Independence, Missouri
This week we changed it up a little and did 6 Dinners + Dessert for under $70 at Walmart. Our total for the meal plan came out to $67.41 at the Super Walmart in Independence, MO.
Now if you are a not a big fan of Walmart and choose to shop elsewhere that is totally fine! So, let’s see what the same meal plan would cost at other local grocery stores in this area.
We try to stay within 20 miles and this week we used the zip code 64050. Studies have shown that most people live, work, and shop within 20 miles.

What if we shopped multiple stores?
If we had the time and energy to shop both Hy-Vee & Aldi this week, we may be able to save a few bucks! By only buying what was cheapest at each store, our total would have been $73.86.
That was definitely cheaper than each stores total ($85.80 & $89.11), but it was still $6.45 more expensive than the total at Walmart this week!
It could still be worth grabbing some good deal at each store, but it would probably be cheaper to still pick up some staple items at Walmart.
