Grocery Price Showdown: Huntington Beach, California
This week we have another $60 meal plan for 6 Dinners at Walmart! We priced our menu out at the local Walmart in Huntington Beach and then went and placed online orders at other local stores to see how they compare.

Our goal is to find out which stores have the best prices for groceries! Now every store typically has different items on sale every week, but this gives you a good idea of what you can expect without looking at the weekly ad.
Grocery List
This week we shopped at a Neighborhood Market Walmart, so the prices we saw were typically a little higher than compared to a Super Walmart.

Grocery Price Totals
Here is the list of Huntington Beach, CA grocery stores in order from cheapest to most expensive.
Please note that stores with * next to their total means they did not carry all the items on our grocery list!

Overall, I was very surprised to see that our highest total was only $85.66. Huntington Beach is described as a very high cost of living area, so I honestly expected their grocery prices to be much higher!
Would shopping multiple stores save money?
Now if we had the time, would going to multiple stores save us money on our grocery budget? The two cheapest stores this week were Aldi and El Super.
If we only bought the cheapest items at each store, our total would have been $55.86. That is definitely lower than each stores total of $61.94 & $63.32.
In fact, shopping both stores could have gotten our total below Walmart’s total of $58.34. So, shopping both stores, would have saved us an extra $2.48 compared to shopping just at Walmart.
So even if you don’t like Walmart, you can still get some good value for your grocery budget, if you are willing to put in the time and effort to shop multiple stores!
