Fred Meyer vs QFC prices: Who is cheaper?
Fred Meyer is a popular store in the Northwest part of the US. Quality Food Centers is best known as QFC and is also located in the Northwest.
What is super interesting, is that both Fred Meyer and QFC are part of the Kroger Co now. This would make me think that both stores would have similar pricing.
Let’s compare pricing for Fred Meyer and QFC in Portland, OR and see if one store has cheaper prices for groceries. Scroll to the end to see the final result. (The results will probably shock you!)

For this price comparison, I am using prices available in Portland, Oregan. I will be selecting items for our meal plan that are the absolute cheapest.
This means mostly generic store brand options and the smallest size needed. This may not be the best value, but we are going for the cheapest option.
We are assuming that we already have kitchen basics like cooking oil, seasonings, salt/pepper, and baking powder at home. Everything else needed for the meal plan will need to be purchased.
