For this price comparison, I am using prices available in Worcester, Massachusetts. I will be selecting items for our meal plan that are the absolute cheapest.
This means mostly generic store brand options and the smallest size needed. This may not be the best value, but we are going for the cheapest option.
We are assuming that we already have kitchen basics like cooking oil, seasonings, salt/pepper, and baking powder at home. Everything else needed for the meal plan will need to be purchased.

I am always super happy when the total comes out under $100 for a week’s worth of groceries, but there is some room for improvement.
If we had shopped at both store’s and really focused on which store had the items cheaper, we could have made this total go down by a few more dollars.
Really though either of these stores would be a good one stop option. We did get more meat for the money at Price Rite, so I would try to go there for all my shopping.
To save even more money, I would check out the sales flyer at Price Rite and try to take advantage of any digital coupons they offer on their website.
Aldi has partnered with Instacart for super easy online shopping and the right now Instacart is offering free delivery on orders over $35 and cash back!
