Feed Your Family for Less: 6 Delicious No-Oven Dinners for $60 (Week #71)

Back-to-school season always comes with a whirlwind of new schedules, busy afternoons, and the challenge of getting dinner on the table fast. This week’s meal plan is all about making that transition easier with quick, easy, and low-effort recipes the whole family will enjoy.

Best of all, our total came to just $54.62 for everything except your preferred cooking oil and favorite seasonings! You can use this plan to cover a full week of dinners or simply pick your favorites for about $10 or less per meal (all without turning on the oven)!

Meals for the Week

Grocery Shopping List

If you want to see the full shopping list on Walmart in your area, all you have to do is click my Walmart Grocery list and change the zip code to your area. *This is an affiliate link, and I do make a small commission on any purchases, but at no additional cost to you!*

**** Please note, that every once in a while, an item that I pick turns out to be regional. This means that it may be a much higher price in some areas. Always double check the list and if you see an item that is much higher than normal, just adjust as needed.

Meal Prep Options

If you want to save some extra time this week, here is a list of things you can make or do ahead of time, in order to need less time to cook!

Quick and Easy Meals for a Week

Pepperoni & Cheese Pinwheels with Broccoli

Is it pizza or a stuffed biscuit? Kind of both really, but my kids love these and it’s a nice way to break up and do a twist on their favorite flavors!

Sausage and Corn Chowder

This yummy soup is such a quick and easy meal, plus it shows that you can use breakfast sausage in some more ways than just breakfast. Alternatively, you can also use ground sausage for this meal!

Ham Mac & Cheese Skillet with Peas

What can I say, my kids love mac and cheese! This easy and quick homemade version at least makes me feel better about it! My kids prefer the ham and peas on the side, but normally I would mix everything together.

Chicken Philly Sandwiches

Years ago I had a chicken version of a Philly Sandwich and I was hooked! These are so easy to make at home and are always a hit! You can switch out the hoagies for slider buns, use garlic bread for open faced sandwiches, or honestly serve the filling of rice!

Turkey Enchilada Skillet

I love making simple enchiladas but always end up using the oven. So this stove top version is a quick and easy way to get all the flavor without heating up the kitchen! As a bonus, we snuck some zucchini in there and honestly my kids didn’t even notice. you can shred the zucchini instead of dicing if you like!

Sweet & Sour Chicken

Y’all should know that I am addicted to Rice Bowls right now, and this has got to be in my Top 3 of easy rice bowls! As a bonus, you can easily pack in more veggies to this dish if you have some hanging out in your fridge that need to be used up. We like add frozen sliced cabbage to this one as well!

Low-Cost Fruit Options to Add:

I am a huge fan of adding fruit to dinners. This small, yummy part helps kids know they will love at least something on their plate.

So, whenever I have a little wiggle room in my budget, I try to pick up 2-3 fruits to add to meals. Here are some good options that you can grab this week! (Try mixing fresh fruit and canned fruit together for some added variety)

It’s also been shown that most Americans don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables, so add some to your dinner! (Remember you don’t need a ton of fruit either, just a 1/4 to 1/2 a cup can help fill you up at mealtime.)

*Walmart is not always the cheapest when it comes to fresh fruits. Lots of local stores run better sales and have fruit as loss leaders, so check your local stores for some better deals if needed!*
