Make Grilled Chicken Exciting Again!

Grilled chicken is a warm-weather staple, but let’s be honest—it can get a little boring if you don’t switch things up. The good news? You don’t need a complicated recipe to breathe new life into your chicken dinner.

These easy topping ideas are quick to throw together and packed with flavor. Whether you’re craving something fresh and herby, sweet and tangy, or rich and cheesy, there’s something here to make your next grilled chicken night anything but ordinary.

Turn that Grilled Chicken into a Winner

Tomato Cheddar Chicken

You can totally skip the pre-made herb cream cheese at the grocery store by flavoring your own cream cheese at home. We typically do a mix of ranch seasoning and black pepper, but you can use whatever flavors you like! Try it with taco seasoning, Italian seasoning, and even Cajun seasoning!

Chimichurri Sauce

I feel like chimichurri is making a big comeback for summer, but most people don’t know you can totally make it at home!

French Onion Chicken

This is one of those “oh my goodness…why didn’t I think of that?” dishes! That is what I hear every time I make it for someone new! This is a great example of taking flavors you love like French Onion Soup and combine it with something new like grilled chicken.

Monterey Chicken

This can not be an easier upgrade on BBQ chicken! All you have to do is add some cheese and bacon, maybe even a few slices of tomato…..BAM you have a homerun at your next cookout!

Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken

This is such a classic pairing with chicken, but we usually see it on the stovetop. For some reason we forget to use it with grilled chicken. I have also switched it up to crushed pineapple and used it over chicken legs that turned out awesome.

Pizza Chicken

Some of the easiest ways to make something yummy is to draw inspiration from your favorite foods. I absolutely adore pizza, so why not add those flavors of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni to your grilled chicken?

Spinach Artichoke Dip Chicken

I once hosted a baby shower and had a ginormous amount of Spinach Artichoke dip leftover. I started putting it on everything to try to use it up. You would think I would no longer love it after eating it so many ways, but really I am probably more in love now that I know how versatile it is!

Bruschetta Mix

This is a classic to me, and if you add fresh mozzarella you can call it “Caprese – Style Chicken.”!

Upgraded Grilled Chicken

I am always chasing the next best way to level up basic dishes! Some of my best discoveries have come out of a need to use up leftovers or just in the mood to try something new.

I always learn something and even if the dish isn’t fabulous, I usually have a good idea of how to make it one for next time.

Don’t be afraid to try something new but also stick with what you love. If you love a sauce on pork, try it on chicken. If you love a pasta flavor, try it out on rice! Never stop exploring new flavors!
