Sweet, Tangy, and Simple: Easy Ham Glazes to Try at Home
Ham is usually associated with holiday meals like Easter, but you can bake a ham anytime of year! We recently discovered that my husband who previously claimed to truly dislike glazes on ham, actually just didn’t care for the glaze pack that comes with the ham.
So we set out to create some super yummy glazes that you can make yourself at home with supper common ingredients! As a bonus, you can totally use these glazes on more than just ham. You can easily use these on a pork tenderloin, pork chops, chicken, and so much more!
What makes a glaze for Ham?
Ham glazes don’t have to be crazy sweet. There are so many options you can make from tangy to spicy to just little sweet.

Most of these glazes are made from super common items that you already have at home or are fairly cheap to buy at the store.
If you have been around a while, you will know that I love to use what we have on hand, so feel free to adapt these suggestions to what you already have at home.

Even those these 4 are kind of sweet, they aren’t mega sweet if you know what I mean! You can also easily adapt these, like instead of doing Cola, try using Dr. Pepper or Root Beer.

Mustard may sound like a surprising ingredient in some of these but honestly nothing is better than a ham sandwich with mustard, so it makes perfect sense to me to include it in a glaze!
I know that some people absolutely love the Honey Baked Ham style of sweet, glazed hams, but if you don’t….. these are some great options to try!
Hams can be baked in the oven, slow cooked in a crockpot, or you can even sauté ham slices in a skillet on the stove top. There is so many great options when it comes to ham, so don’t rule it out until you have tried some new ways!
