6 Canned Chickpea Recipes to Make

Chickpeas are a wonderful pantry staple to have on hand. They are relatively cheap, high protein, and can be used to make some yummy dishes.

Not only do they have a great shelf life, but to me chickpeas can really taste however you want them to with the right seasonings. They are easy to add to salads and soups as well!

Canned Chickpea/ Garbanzo Bean Ideas

1. Traditional Hummus

The classic choice for canned chickpeas or garbanzo beans is of course hummus, so I have included that recipe, but I encourage you to explore adding other flavors to it as well! (I don’t always care for tahini, so I leave that out sometimes as well)

2. Roasted Chickpeas

These are great as a snack or a salad topping! Try out other seasonings as well like Montreal Steak or a BBQ rub!

3. Mediterranean Tuna Salad

This is a fun twist on tuna salad, and I love to serve this over lettuce!

4. Chickpea Salad

This is one of those salads that I swear tastes better after it refrigerates for a while!

5. Three Bean Chili

Chickpeas go really well with other beans, so why not add them to chili?

6. Chickpea Falafel

Falafels are typically made with either chickpeas or fava beans, so this is a great recipe to include. You can also switch this up with different seasonings and dips!

Using Canned Chickpeas
