Comforting & Wholesome Dinners + Dessert for Under $70 (Week #42)

This week has been a little crazy, but it reminded me that sometimes the best dishes are super simple. So, we really focused on easy to make and kid-approved dinners! We also snuck in some veggies too, so don’t worry!

There are also lots of opportunities for meal prepping and cooking ahead to save yourself much needed time. Let’s prep once and eat multiple times right?

Our budget for this meal plan is $70 at Walmart, and we came in easily under budget! Our total at the Spokane, Washington Super Walmart was $67.02! That means there could definitely be some wiggle room for you too. (In fact, I bet you already have some of the needed items this week!)

Flavorful Meals This Week

I love that almost everything can be prepped or made ahead of time, so perfect for a busy schedule!

Grocery List

We may have used more meats than usual, but we purposely used other ingredients in multiple dishes to keep our costs down!

Dinners for the Week

1. Ham & Potato Soup made on the Stove Top

While I love slow cooker or crockpot potato soup, sometimes I just want quick and easy on the stove too!

2. Ground Turkey Nachos

This is a great family friendly meal because you can switch out ingredients to what you know your family will love. Don’t like black beans? Switch it out to refried beans or any other beans you like! (This can also totally be made with leftover taco seasoned meat too)

3. Pepperoni Pretzel Pizza

This is very similar to the Little Caesar’s pretzel crust pizza but I’m not a huge fan of the cheese sauce. You can easily swap out the tomato sauce for cheese sauce if you want!

4. Sausage & Veggie Spaghetti

If you have picky eaters like mine, you can also chop up the zucchini and carrots in the food processor or grate them to make them less noticeable!

5. Italian Grinder Salads

Even though I love the Grinder Sandwiches, I think I love the salad version even more! This is another one you can add to if you like. Maybe add some pickles, banana peppers, or olives?

6. Easy Beef and Broccoli Noodles

This meal was born out of just wanting to get dinner on the table, but it turned out so yummy, we actually make it pretty often!

Dessert: Cracker Toffee

I learned this one from my Mom, and she loving called it “Crack”! This is a great base and you can change it up based what you already have! (Like did you know you can really use any crackers? Yup! Try it with graham crackers or Club style crackers!)
