6 Dinners & Dessert for Under $70 at Walmart (Week #36)

This week we decided to switch things up a little! Plus, now that we are using our oven more, we actually have a lot more low-cost choices to work with.

Our menu for the week includes not only 6 super yummy and low effort meals, but it also includes a fun sweet treat or dessert to make. We managed to do all of this and stay under a budget of $70 for the week.

Our prices this week come from the Super Walmart in Independence, Missouri. I will note that they had 1lb rolls of Ground Beef on sale this week, so this price point may not be available every week and at every location.

The great thing is that you can easily substitute out the ground beef for ground turkey, chicken, pork, or even sausage. So don’t let the ground beef prices get the best of you, we can still make yummy dinners with other options if need be!

Don’t forget to check your pantry, fridge, and freezer for items on the list so you can get your total lower than mine!

Yummy Low-Effort Meals

If you are not a fan of BBQ sauce, you can easily switch this up to be a ketchup/tomato based sauce or even a brown gravy.

If you already have cooked chicken from another meal or have some in your freezer, you can easily use that instead of buying a Rotisserie Chicken.

We also kept the cost low by using a “Chilled” rotisserie chicken instead of one of the hot ones. Since we won’t be eating this as soon as we get home, it doesn’t make any difference if the chicken has already been refrigerated!

If you are not a fan of cream of mushroom soup, you can easily switch that out to cream of celery, cream of broccoli, or any other available soup. You can also thicken your favorite broth like beef or veggie to make your own cream soup!

We are totally counting the peppers and onions as veggies for this meal, but you can add more if you like. I sometimes like to add mushrooms to this as well if they are at a good price!

I am huge fan of homemade pizza crust, but if you don’t have a stand mixer, these mixes work really well, and they are super cheap!

I love a good soup, and the amazing part is you can easily switch out ingredients based on what you have! Already have black beans or kidney beans? Those will totally work instead of pinto beans!

This is one of my guilty pleasures! I prefer the cinnamon flavored graham crackers, but any cracker or cookie will work well with this dip.

******Each of these meals could easily serve 4-6 people depending on appetite. So, if you are a family of four, you could have plenty of leftovers the next day for lunches.******
