Grocery Price Showdown: Fred Meyer vs Amazon Fresh
Our last showdown in Bellevue Washington will be Fred Meyer and Amazon Fresh. We have not done grocery prices from Amazon before, so this will be fun to see how they compare.
We like to compare real grocery lists, so we will be using our Week 18 plan. This is everything we will need for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the week for a family of four.
Key Takeaways
- There was only a difference of $3.51!!!
- Shopping both stores got us so close to our $100 budget.
- Walmart was cheaper than Fred Meyer or Amazon Fresh.
Meal Plan and Grocery List
Here is the grocery list we will be comparing at both grocery stores.
This grocery list came out under $100 at Walmart so let’s see if Fred Meyer or Amazon can do that too!
Is X Cheaper than X?
My prediction is that Amazon will be more expensive than Fred Meyer. I also predict that finding items on Amazon may be a pain.

Wow! What a close race this week! Fred Meyer just barely came in cheaper with a total of $110.76. That was only $3.51 cheaper.
I will say I was expecting Amazon’s total to be much higher so that was awesome to see. I will also say that searching Amazon Fresh was much easier than regular Amazon!
Food for Thought
Since both places actually came out so close, let’s see if we can do better! What if we only bought the cheapest items at each store? Will that see a significant difference in our total?
The total for both stores would have been $100.60!!! That is an additional savings of $10.16 (about 9%).
We are so close to be under our $100 budget, so I would say shopping both store would definitely be worth it!
