Grocery Price Showdown: Fresh Thyme vs Target
Today let’s do a price comparison of Fresh Thyme and Target to see who had better prices on groceries.
We love to use real lists for our comparison, so we will be using our newest list of 6 dinners for $60 to test both stores.
Key Takeaways
- Target was the clear winner by more than 21%, but Target was still 29% more expensive than Walmart
- The chicken prices really ruined it for Fresh Thyme.
- Target’s total would have been less if they didn’t sell their produce in multi-packs.

Food for Thought
I’m a little disappointed that neither store got below $60. Just for fun, let’s check to see if going to both grocery stores can save us some more money.
If we only bought what was cheapest at both stores, our total would have been $76.90. That is an additional savings of $4.49 (about 5%).
If it was convenient to go to both locations, I probably would stop by both stores, but the savings is pretty small.
