For this price comparison, I am using prices available in Douglasville, Georgia. I will be selecting items for our meal plan that are the absolute cheapest.
This means mostly generic store brand options and the smallest size needed. This may not be the best value, but we are going for the cheapest option.
We are assuming that we already have kitchen basics like cooking oil, seasonings, salt/pepper, and baking powder at home. Everything else needed for the meal plan will need to be purchased.

There were a few items at Food Depot like the lettuce, eggs, and milk that was much cheaper at Kroger. IF these are my two options, I would buy the majority of my items at Food Depot, and then fill in with a trip to Kroger.
I would also utilize the weekly sales flyer so I could make my meal plan based on what is currently on sale. This would also allow me to stock up on items that are at a really good price.
