Kroger is a very large supermarket chain of about 1348 stores all over the US. Meijer is a smaller grocery store chain with about 253 stores in 6 states.

To determine if Kroger or Meijer is cheaper for groceries, we will price compare a meal plan for a whole week. Scroll to the end to see the final verdict!

For this price comparison, I am using prices available in Columbus, Ohio. I will be selecting items for our meal plan that are the absolute cheapest.

This means mostly generic store brand options and the smallest size needed. This may not be the best value, but we are going for the cheapest option.

We are assuming that we already have kitchen basics like cooking oil, seasonings, salt/pepper, and baking powder at home. Everything else needed for the meal plan will need to be purchased.
