8 Tasty Stuffed Mushroom Ideas

I am a huge fan of stuffed mushrooms. They can be a great appetizer or a side dish, plus they can be a great vehicle to use up random leftovers.

Today, I am sharing my 8 favorite ways to make them. Some of these come from my time working in catering and some are ones I created at home.

Stuffed mushrooms don’t really need specific measurements because it is really based on how many you have, how big they are, and how you are serving them. So, you will have to wing it a little!

1. Classic Garlic & Herb

These are very similar to the traditional appetizer you would get at a restaurant. You can totally switch up the herbs in this. Try using dill, tarragon, or even basil!

2. Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Mushrooms

I really love that hot chicken dip, so of course I had to stuff mushrooms with it when I had some leftover. Oh, my goodness, this was so delicious!

3. Cheesy Spinach

This one is so simple but is always a huge hit at Holiday Parties! From Christmas to Easter, these mushrooms are really a show stealer.

4. “Loaded” Mashed Potato Stuffed Mushrooms

This one actually started as a joke with my husband. I wanted stuffed mushrooms and he wanted baked potatoes….. So of course, I had to combine them. Match made in heaven!

5. Mac & Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

Years ago I had mac and cheese balls. You know leftover mac and cheese rolled in bread crumbs then fried? Well ever since that moment, I look at mac and cheese in a whole new way. I literally am always trying new ways to use mac & cheese!

6. Pizza Stuffed Mushrooms

Sometimes I end up with these random little amounts of tomato sauce. So why not stuff some mushrooms? Instead of pepperoni, I’ve also used ground sausage as well as other popular pizza toppings like diced onion, bell peppers, and more!

7. Stuffing Stuffed Mushrooms

Have a little stuffing leftover after Thanksgiving? These are so delicious you will want to make them all year round! I recently got a bunch of mega cheap boxes of stuffing at Aldi for like 29 cents a box. They had an Italian Sausage stuffing and a Cornbread Jalapeno stuffing that I cannot wait to try in mushrooms!

8. Taco Inspired Mushrooms

I am forever trying new ways to use up refried beans and taco meat. Don’t get me wrong we love both, but I am always on the hunt to use them in fun ways. These mushrooms are truly amazing! (I like to add a pickled jalapeno slice to the top to add a little heat)
