6 Budget Friendly Dinners under $60! (Week #16)

This week I decided to mix it up a little bit, instead doing breakfast, lunches, dinners, snacks, and a sweet treat; I have done 6 big dinners for under $60.

Each dinner easily serves 4-6 people and if you have small children it could serve more! So this means you will more than likely have plenty of leftovers for lunches.

We typically work with a $100 budget for a week’s worth of groceries, so this leaves you $40 to pick up some snacks, a few breakfast items, and maybe a sweet treat too!

Grocery List

This week we priced all of our items at the Walmart Supercenter in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our total came out to $57.58 for everything we would possibly need including canola oil and Italian Seasonings.

So, make sure to check your pantry, fridge, and freezer before going grocery shopping because you could easily already have lots of these items at home!

(Side Note: if you already have pasta at home but it isn’t penne or bowtie, please go ahead and use it! The shape is really not that important to the dish.)

  • You can easily use the leftover Swiss cheese and ham for grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch!
  • If you don’t want to buy breadcrumbs you can easily just use toast in the food processor.
  • If you already have beef boullion cubes, you can totally use that!
  • We only need one of the onion soup mix packs, so the 2nd can be saved for later to make a yummy dip with veggies.
  • If you already have jarred minced garlic, go ahead and use that instead of buying a head of garlic.
  • You can make your own Italian seasoning at home if you already have dried basil, oregano, rosemary, parsley, thyme, and garlic powder!
  • If you have leftover tomato sauce from spaghetti or even just a can of diced tomatoes, those will work too.
  • If you have any leftover tomato meat mixture, it is really good on top of a baked potato for lunch!

I have made the printable version shorter, so it takes less ink and paper. These will print on a standard 8.5 x 11 page, but you can adjust the size if you need it a different size.

New Format

I did a poll recently in the Meal Planning for All Facebook group, and the majority of the people said they usually didn’t eat breakfast or just ate something light.

We still left plenty of room to pick up extra items, but please let me know what you think of the new format!

We really hope you enjoyed this week’s meal plan! If you want to see new menus every week, we encourage you to join our Facebook page where we post new menus every Saturday morning. Check it out here: Low Dough Family Facebook Page.
